Friend Of Yours Poem by Melpomene's Tears

Friend Of Yours

What lurks in your mind O troubled soul?
Who hides behind the dark drapes?
When the sun sets in your brain
Who comes out to play in the dark?

Beneath your bed hides nothing
Your closet is silently empty
But who hides beneath the façade?
Can you open the doors and share a glimpse?

What is that glint in your eye when provoked?
Is that the sound of crunching bones we hear?
Who is that behind the veil?
Is that a glimpse of an insane grin?

Alas, the path you venture, alone you must go
Those 'friends' of yours are rather picky
But we send our respects
And possibly a postcard or two.

Ruth ~ true! Nowadays foes look more like friends than actual friends!
