You have been distant lately
I want to know but not seem nosy or clingy
I could tell from the time before you walked through the door
Something occurred and you just are trying to ignore

Little do you know, I am a friend
I been through a lot, I can comprehend
Like I mention, we are not that close
Even though I would want to be more

Like the song goes, you've got a friend in me.
Even in the time of the most unexpected debris.
I may not know exactly what you went through
But I can do my best and just be here for you

That is what a friend is for
I am trying my best, even though I may not be next door
This right here is your good friend
Until the very end
