Friar Lawrence Poem by Roger Chen

Friar Lawrence

Rating: 5.0

When the raging Po River drown the bank
Here I am, on the boat of Heaven
Determined to bring the world joyfulness
With passion, with faith, with sacrifice

When the dawn glow tints the horizon red
Here I am, kneeling down on the earth
Worshiping the elegance of nature
With peace, with silence, with reverence

When the rancor stops two stars from crossing
Here I am, under God's holy words
To trade long-term peace for the hallowed rings
With vows, with wishes, with reliance

When the candlelight kindles the Bible
Here I am, facing the words I adore
Soaring in the welkin of eternity
With love, with prudence, with loyalty
