Freshly Fallen Snow Poem by Matt Burgett

Freshly Fallen Snow

Will you walk with me, and talk with me,
live with me, and die with me,
Cry with me and fly with me,
stand with me, and dance with me,

Oh how I love being with you,
Oh how my pride and joy is you
And it's simply true that I love you

But never again will I let go
Never again will my grip slip
Letting you fall down into this freshly fallen snow
Or go another day without your luscious kiss

Glowing moon light rising off your eyes
As everyone else around us dies
The world is spinning around you and me
Continual chaotic hangings from nearby trees

With everyone slipping and falling on the ice
I feel this is the last night I can try to be nice
Snow fall building up in the grass
And as gun shots heard with the sound of falling brass
People will scream in pain
Wishing the snow to turn to rain

Were holding each other watching as the world falls apart
A stray bullet hits me and I fall into a nearby shopping cart
You hold my hand and say I will be alright
And give me a hug as I hold you tight

Laying on the ground now
With you hand holding mine
I ask the question to you but why
And how it is you are so kind

Before it is a single word from you can be said
I start shaking and my eyes roll in the back of my head
You cry uncontrollably but of my hand you never let go
And we both died buried here in this freshly fallen snow
