Freedom Quest Poem by Frank Acquafredda

Freedom Quest

Rating: 4.0

Never before have I been so lost,
Clinging to life by just a thread,
Helpless, but forever searching,
From this darkness haunting overhead.

This path has left me so confused,
For some answers only that I seek,
With hopes and dreams that day shall come
When this pain inside one day can speak.

Beyond the death of those I loved
Behind this wall my emotions leak,
As the sun breaks through my haunting shadows
Shining rays of light that will now peek.

Trying so hard to be strong and honest
Through this life no longer I can pretend,
Never wanted judgment from those before
Just this misery inside to somehow end.

To rid myself of this rage and anger
Before starting anew I must confess,
Leaving this poison inside behind,
And all of life's unwanted stress.

So when your eyes look upon my face
A big happy smile now you will see,
Unlike the fake one I have been wearing,
A prisoner trapped who now is free.
