Freedom Courageous Poem by Natarajan Ramaseshan

Freedom Courageous

Rating: 5.0

He who yearns for freedom courageous
Will he ever crave for anything outrageous?
He who longs for ambrosia divine
Will he ever think of toddy or wine?

Will anyone sell out the sun upon the sky
To buy some glow-worm flying not so high?
Losing Independence, the apple of one's eye
Will one remain servile, hands-tied just to survive?

Will anyone, desiring worldly pleasures
Forsake the glory of freedom's treasures?
Will not people mock, scorn and jeer
At trading eyes for a painting here?

Translated from Tamil by R.Natarajan
