Free Like A Bird

Freedom is like a bird;
It is the wind that cools your face,
The sun burning on your skin
When the only place left
Is nature and the rest.
Liberty is your voice,
The one who was finally heard.
It is the thought that says
You will never be chased again;
It is that feeling
That lets you trust,
But that at the same time
Was created by not trusting too much.
Freedom is when you can run,
When you can grab a hand
And not feel trapped.
Freedom is not
When someone likes you,
But when you
Like yourself.

    well it is really nice when someone else likes you/me, right? as long as they are NICE people, and sometimes even when they are not. but i really liked your ending lines:
    Freedom is not
    When someone likes you,
    But when you
    Like yourself.

    and yes, trusting too much can be a mistake OR it can be a gate opening your life to unexpected pleasures.
    It's difficult/impossible sometimes to know when to trust and how much. i tend to trust more rather than less i think. thanks for sharing. :) (Report) Reply

I love to see the old heath's withered brake
Mingle its crimpled leaves with furze and ling,
While the old heron from the lonely lake
Starts slow and flaps its melancholy wing,
