Free At Last Poem by Tevin Ellis

Free At Last

Free from pain, Free from struggle
Free from the torment, oppressive muscle.
Free to laugh, Free to cry.
Now the next generation can spread their wings and fly.
No more blacks, tans, pales, and whites.
We all can live together in peace, let's unite.
Free to talk, Free to sing.
The whole world now hears Freedom's ring.
It started with MLK & has ended with Obama.
Is this now the end of the race drama?
All of the horror is in the past.
Now I can shout: Free At Last, Free At Last, Thank God Almighty, Free At Last!
