Free

I want to be free
What should I be
What could I see
If I was free
Should I go to the sea
Or sit by a tree
The thing I could see
If I was free
Would anyone see
If I was free
Would anyone look for me
What is the key
Of becoming free
Should I close my eyes
And count to three
Open my eyes
And I will be free

poet John Clare

I love to see the old heath's withered brake
Mingle its crimpled leaves with furze and ling,
