Frankly Proud Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Frankly Proud

Frankly proud

Somehow I
For long time
Long as life
Baptist John’s
Have been and
Will remain Indian
To mean man of feathers
Man of skin, named as bird

Somehow I
For long time
Long as life
Che Guevara’s
Have been and
Will remain Indian
The man of the mountains
Eskimo in life of igloo’s ice

Somehow I
For long time
Long as life
Jesus-likes; so many
Have been and
Will remain Indian
I’ve been called a savage
Who cares if judge is wrong?

Somehow I
For long time
Long as life
Have been and
Will remain Indian
I sit on a bare horse
My name is after bird
Or an Ox, Buffalo or a Bear

Nicely done! Speak loud and proud of who you are and where you come from!
