Fostered Pain Poem by Riley Choma

Fostered Pain

Broken, beaten, neglected
A lost soul left shattered
Drugs, violence and liquor
She tries to make sense of it
Sense of something so senseless
She is only 8
Could she possibly understand why this is her fate
He beat her black and blue while the other children watched from the next room
Sirens blared further damaging a heart beyond repair
She knew she wouldn't be here long but still time and time again it always felt so wrong
13 new places and always 2 more new faces
Just a product of the system that always seems to keep it’s distance
Never wanted, always alone
Never was there someone to love and to hold her
All she ever wanted was to have a home
Is it really so much to ask
To be loved, to be cared for
Their words scarred just as bad as their fists
I guess you might say death was an option her pain just couldn’t resist

I feel your pain. you couldn't write this if you weren't there, I know. Abused all my life I write my pain. Write on it helps. Very good writing. I give you a 10. You wrote from your heart.
