Fossilized Pearl Poem by Don Nguyen

Fossilized Pearl

There was a brilliant sparkling tiny mirror reflecting the sun, hitting my eyes;
Inquisitively, I bent down to pick up the object.
Round, smooth, placed in the center of an oyster shell was the hidden dormant pearl,
Which displays the shiny colorful rainbow prism.

Gorgeous pearl!

Exposed to natural environments, weather, storms, human abuses and crueties, multiple thick layers of fossilized moss formed into its thick oyster shell;
One by one built up to bury the precious pearl,
Covered up the hidden pearl underneath;
One new layer was formed based on the foundation beneath;
One by one, they build up a rigid, unmovable, fixed thick cover for the pearl.

Hidden pearl is the original divinized wisdom and pristine nature, bestowed upon each soul
As He once made us according to His own image,
Which is pure, angelic, and most of all, loving;
But time passes, life dross fossilized on our soul shell and its pearl within.
Scares of life builds up layer after layer
In the forms of prejudice, prenotion, preconception, opinion, biases, conviction, belief, even religious faith,
Which are undivinized, inhuman, cruel, narrow-minded, incompassionate, hateful, and negatively all.

Contemplate how you should change
For a better you and the betterment of all mankind, starting with your family and those around you.
Then ask the Divine to guide you for that noble quest;
Ask by getting down on knees and beg like a beggar on the street,
Humble, broken, desperate to receive His blessing,

To be able to recover the pearl He once created in you.

I hope that it just lays dormant
To be re-discovered.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The word given is multiplicity; and next to it are populous, crowded, thick.

'Divinized' means God-like.

(Walking the beach, I collected beautiful sea shells for my son while gathering thoughts for this poetic expression, not really poem at all, hope you enjoy it, pray for you all. Ocean brings the best out of me for i feel deeply connected with God, actually at any place really.)
