Forty-Four Men Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Forty-Four Men

Our country lost forty-four men
Killed mercilessly by those who betray,
Traitors who speak of peace once again -
Who shake hands, but treacherously, they slay.

Forty-four men to a failed mission,
Now commanders say they did not know.
Eloquent words do not bring consolation
As a citizen of this nation - I say you must go!

Shame on you all for this military failure!
It only reveals the sad fact we now face-
In your hands our country's safety is unsure
You are all so inept, you are all a disgrace!

From the President down to these commanders-
We ask with all decency, read these line-
There is not excuse for your tragic blunders
If you can't handle the job - leave it, RESIGN!
