Forsaken Love Poem by Amy Jacques

Forsaken Love

To forsake thy love
Shouldst I be faint
And turn my back
With all restraint

A grip that's lost
And not retained
A mournful thought
For a heart that's pained

But if I should stay
With overwhelmed emotion
Could my heart take
The pure devotion

A test of time
That could have showed
But now is lost
By the forsaken forebode.
