Forgotten Song
Do you remember our lovely tune?
Am I the only one now who recalls what it was?
Remember when we played it to dream of the past -
Every night, every noon?
You seem to have forgotten what it was
Did you lose your guitar?
Or did you lose your dignity?
Either way, you shall receive no pity.
Search near and far
And find that it had never been there at all.
Anyway, this was the first poem I ever wrote. It is about me, I will tell you that. It's about a person whom I loved dearly. We had a song that we would listen to together and sometimes I would share it with him to remind him of it. Whenever we fought, I would have him listen to the song to, I guess, let him know I still loved him. Unfortunately, one day I had him listen to it but it was like he had forgotten how much that song meant to us....
