Forgiving Poem by Gwendolyn Anderson

Forgiving

To forgive,
a righteous act
No way to Heaven without it
To forgive, is not forget
but let past trespasses rest
No peace without forgiveness

To be forgiven, is the best
No ill feelings felt,
No punishment from reliving the past

Imagine, reaching Heaven,
all you thought forgave and forgotten
A terrible Hell
having to relive a very sinful past
forgiveness being asked, to late
thinking back to all the empty
heartless hopeless prayers,
said in vain,
nonetheless

Never underestimate,
Sorry, please forgive me
accept apologies with wisdom
and honor
Apology forgiven,
I promise
