Forgiveness Poem by Doris Cornago

Forgiveness

Rating: 5.0

Loving you was like living in a dream
Waking up everyday to find you're gone
Smiling, tears running down cheeks
Thinking tonight you'll be here again.

Sulking on the night you've unmasked
Saying there's nothing else to regain
You've suited up for your next flight
Giving me a nod of rare recognition.

Surely paths are long and interwoven
Someday we might meet on the lane
Forgiving in a heartfelt auld lang syne
Truthfully trusting for all good to come.

I've given everything and took back nothing. Someday, my heart will recover knowing I've not caused anyone much pain.
