Forgive Me Poem by Sandile mngadi.

Forgive Me

Forgive me for not keeping my promise.
I said i love you
I will never leave you
I will never be like the other guys
I said i wanna marry you
Raise kids with you
Raise them in a home filled with love
Where me and you will see alike
Where you will be my spine, neck and i the head
Where we will be one till death do us apart
I lied
I was just a boy then
Everything was just in my empty head
The only thing i saw was that nice legs you had
I had all the poetic words any woman wanted to hear
Now i am a man
I see the wrongs i have done
Forgive me
I cant change the past
It was your lesson
I was the teacher
You were my student
The only difference is you passed
I failed
Now i have regrets
I can`t even sleep properly at night
Each bit i take is hard to swallow
I am not sure if you are even coping
The baggage i left with you and your husband is hard to imagine
I can`t even call to say sorry
I can`t even call to say hi to my child because he does not know me.
Forgive me for not keeping my promise
