Forget Me Poem by Muriel Ruth Emerson

Forget Me

I try to forget you
I try to forget the words you said
But they ring through my ears
Everyday
Every night
I hear them playing like a movie in my mind
I try to forget your face
But I see it when I close my eyes
And on the face of strangers
I see you in the mall
Walking down the street
I try to forget
But I could never forget the way you did
