Forever The Optimist Poem by Vonda Overlie

Forever The Optimist

This mask I wear to the face the world is slowly growing thin
It is made with smiles and a cheery tone to hide the pain I'm in

As the days grow dark and my spirit wains, I try with might to hold
It's always darkest before the dawn, is the promise I've been told

I hope in hope as I journey on walking each step in faith
A wounded soldier marching on at a much weaker pace

Give me the strength to to take on the world and continue with a glow.
For Jesus loves me so very much, the bible tells me so!
