Forever Real Poem by Christine Natale

Forever Real

There was a hope I once found
Though dying I carry it softly around
There was a wish I once made
On a bright blinding star that’s beginning to fade
There was a dream I once touched
It shattered like porcelain handled too much

Dying hope, fading wish, shattered dream
Why are things never as real as they seem?
Dying hope, fading wish, shattered dream
Why are things never as real as they seem?

There was a man I once knew
His thousands of kisses were thousands too few
There was a child I once saved
His cries in the night haunt me still to this day
There was an angel of time
Whose voice was the echo I hear in my mind

Kisses few, crying child, angel wings
Why can we never hold on to these things?
Kisses few, crying child, angel wings
Why can we never hold on to these things?

Then came a sunrise so rare
I found a new hope rising there
Then came a wish burning bright
I found a new song in the night
Then came a lover so true
That all of my dreams lived anew

Rising hope, singing wish, loving dream
Forever as real as they seem.
Rising hope, singing wish, loving dream
Forever as real as they seem.
