Forever Alone In Darkness Poem by Mitchell Wright

Forever Alone In Darkness

Rating: 5.0

The sun resigns,
bleeds out the vestiges-
remnants of the day.

Exsanguination edges into twilight
and the stars
did wander darkling in eternal space,
rayless, and pathless, and the icy earth
swing blind and blackening in the moonless air.

In the dark I stand alone.

I stand surrounded by nothingness
waiting and waiting for the sun
to glimpse above the horizon,
to then be vanquished as I would
be in dreadful darkness for one thousand eternities

Forever alone in darkness.
