For Whatever Reason, Have You Ever Poem by Joshua Bantum

For Whatever Reason, Have You Ever

Have you ever mistook a street light
For the moon,
But wept beneath it’s false beauty
Anyways,

Have you ever looked into a one
Night lovers eyes,
And saw a wife,
Despite the lack of emotional
Ties.

Have you ever been a glutton,
And mistook your over consumption
For something
Lesser
Then what it was.

Have you ever read anothers poem,
And swore they stole your thoughts,
Have you ever loved
A poet,
Because you mistook him for
A saint.
