For The Sins Of The Father Poem by Francis Duggan

For The Sins Of The Father

For the sins of the father do not blame the son
You can only blame him for any wrong he has done
To another person for that he should feel shame
For the sins of his father him one cannot blame
For the sins of the father it would be fair to say
The son should not be faulted in any sort of a way
For the sins of the mum or the sins of the dad
The judgemental judge others and that does seem sad
And they even judge people by their postal address
The idea of a fair go them does not impress
For the sins of the father the son do not blame
He should not have to suffer for his dad's ill fame
He is not the one who committed the crime
And he is not the one who is serving the time
