For Sarah Poem by James Merchant

For Sarah

Sweet surrendering of the mind
To a subtle splinter of time
Is it worth all the snide remarks?
Is it worth these shallow stars?

Sweet enthusiasm so easily sprung
Like the untitled painting upon the wall
People miss it for no reason
Decorators find it matches the season

Sarah points out
With innocence what I doubt
She is innocence
I spin my web
