For One More Day.....

I know you are tired
Of burning for me everyday
You try your best
Not to let my hope die
So you rise up every morning
Pull me up from the bed
And gift me the bouquet
Of some more bright days
I paint my lips red and they smile
I sharpen my eyes black and they shine
And dip my heart in your warm gold
An effort, that it beats for a little longer
But look at you my beloved
Who knows except me
That your fierce smile is fake
You have a painted face too
Underestimate me if you think i am unaware
Of the moment
when life was at stake
About to fail
About to fall..
And just to keep me alive
You pushed so hard
Your own gold turned black

The next morning was never the same
You still showered upon us
With whatever was left with you
The black silky ash...
O' moon of the days
Don't fight so hard
These silver grey clouds
Are envious of you
This blue earth would mourn for none but you
I have saved your flames
In my heart
So deep that no rain could extinguish
...

Let this truth be known to you
At night, when nobody sees us
and the robes of fake strength are put-off
We both sob
In our own beds
Of cotton and clouds and sigh..
Just a dream is enough
To make us sleep
That its only a thin layer
Of air
Between us
What can prevent us from seeing each other
And knowing every morning
That both of us remain
for one more day

For one more day
We paint ourselves
Put on the robes of courage
And smile..
For one more day......

Poem of the Day

poet George Gordon Byron

So we'll go no more a-roving
So late into the night,
Though the heart still be as loving,
And the moon still be as bright.

For the sword outwears its sheath,
