For Jimmy...Vickie Poem by Lawerence Mize, Sr.

For Jimmy...Vickie

If I could go home
and she'd be there,
I'd be the happiest man,
I'd be walking on air.

Her name was Vickie.
The love of my heart.
We shared ten long years.
She was wonderful from the start.

We lived a dream
when our love was planted.
A part of my life
I never took for granted.

The twinkle in her eyes.
So full of life.
Made me so happy
I chose her for my wife.

Now I look at our pictures
on my touch pad screen.
The memories they bring back
remind me of our dreams.

Cancer came along.
Took my Vickie away.
But, though she's gone
I still see her every day.
