For In You The Fatherless Find Compassion

I have been a dedicated listener to STAR 99.1 for about a year and a half now and I can't begin to tell you how this radio station plays a huge role in the road to finding my relationship with God. On June 16th,2008. A tragedy fell upon my family with the passing of my father in a tragic boating accident. An evening that started with clear skies and open waters on the Chesepeake Bay, ended with a storm that forever changed so many lives. My Father, lost at sea, drowned to never return home to his family.Unanswered questions, confusion, unbearable pain fell upon my heart. For the first time in my life, I saw no point to living. My little sister was pulled out of school to be hit with a crashing wave.My older sister was alone away at school, left to crumble into a corner on her bathroom floor. My nother swept away by her own guilt couldn't even look me in the eye.At this moment I felt as if I had fallen into a black hole with no return back to happiness.

Your radio station was one of my biggest sources of comfort through this point in my life. I will never forget driving home from a night out and hearing the song Cinderella by Steven Curtius Chapman for the first time. As corny as this may sound, I felt for the first time since losing my father that everything was going to be alright and we would one day dance together again. I can now see the true purpose as to why tragedies happen in our lives and through darkness the light shines brighter.Thank you STAR 99.1 for being a ray of sunshine that guides so many to finding a true source of Love. Never forget that what you do matters so much, and even though you cannot see even a fraction of where these waves of hope travel, God sees it all. Your radio station has impacted the lives of thousands and has given so many people a place to call home. Let those who have ears hear. To stand up boldly and express to the public the good news on a daily basis takes courage and true selfless faith. God gives each of his children a story and you guys allow people from all over the world to recognize that we are never alone. I share this story because it is not my own, but because this story testifies that God's love is truth.

'For in You the Fatherless Find Compassion' Hosea 14: 3

I encourage you today to be open to those around you, give your whole heart to God, and draw near to Him in both moments of pure joy and incomprehsible pain.

I encourage you today to stand out in love, not only towards believers but to those who cannot see because you were too, lost.

Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.

In my prayers always, Ashley
