For Her Poem by John Ode

For Her

We share our seat cheek to cheek,
Whispering secrets we've heard before.
In this vulnerable embrace,
We found a place that emptiness deplores.
Quivering lips, like passing ships,
Send waves across our skin.
The music in my head is replaced instead,
with thoughts of Sharilyn.
