For Everyone Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

For Everyone

Rating: 5.0

Sky looked naked
As if some one had staked
Claim over vast kingdom
The king might have fled away to return seldom

Not a single movement of cloud
No thunder and absolutely no sound
Sun was blazing at its zenith
No one could forecast what was beneath

The eyes gave way for few tears to be dropped
I was fearful of consequences but had not hoped
Such a calamity in near future to take place
The threat loomed large for entire mankind or race

What would animals do?
How would they come off to go through?
Entire year without green grass or fodder
So much load now rests on our shoulder

The earth has developed cracks
Wells have gone dry and so much is at stake
Vultures may have field day
As dead cattle may be pulled and thrown away

Rain may not visit beautiful land
Not a blade of grass will be seen on grazing land
The thought itself sends me a shiver and cold
I thought of almighty as only secured fold

For many days I repeated prayers
It might have reached to him through many layers
I am sure He may hear to my pleas for animals
Men may arrange but what may animals wait for arrival?

I heard a big sound in the sky
The black clouds were ready to ply
The thunder made it's presence known
Rain was about to shower of its own

God must have heard it from animal side
We deserve no sympathy from any side
We have gone selfish and deserve none
He is smiling above to look after everyone

Dear Hasmukh Bhai, Your prayer must have been very powerful and sincere which resulted in getting rains. People in India pray when there are no rains. If they pray regularly there would be regular rainfall. Didn't Kabir say that in difficulties people remember God not when they are happy, if they remember in happiness there would be no misery? Andrea Edwards This poem is a little confusing for me. I like how the poem feels, with how it slowly drawls through the idea of drought but I feel like it is lacking in a description of actual rain. From my visits to arid places, I have discovered that although it may rain, the rain will rarely touch the ground if it is too hot, and the description, paired with the image are telling me that is what type of place this is, whereas the hope just from the thunder alone, which in itself can be dry, is saying a different story. I believe this story could be improved with a description of the rain itself instead of just about to shower and going into the conclusion.

More Post I loved it Marisol Rodriguez20 minutes ago I loved it because it showed you are caring and of the problems we are facing. That you have a strong belief. It talks of the plight of the animals and of the drought that would cause them to wither and die. But you believed in the power of prayer and they were answered. Comment +1 The end is upon us.
