For All The Hypocrites Poem by Suki Nakamura

for all the hypocrites
who joined me for dinner
who said they love the wine
and the sumptuous salad
who said the ambiance is just perfect
with thumbs-up sign and matching
'oh, the lettuce is too crunchy
and the steak is heavenly'
i hereby take the opportunity
of thanking you all

(but that will be the last dinner
for all of you)

i will be at the hallway
sending you off with my
sweet goodbye
and the usual hug

at the end of this week
on a rainy day
i will invite a few of my sincere friends
they will come i know
bringing their own
heavenly wine
and crunchy lettuce
and soft and sweet cake
with white icing and
roses
and the music will be soft
the conversations too truthful
though bitter sometimes
but at the inner core
of my being
i know will be fruitful
and so beautiful....
