Footnote 1 Poem by Ahmad Shiddiqi

Footnote 1

Rating: 5.0

chrysanthemums fly
swaying to the sky
footsteps of memory
in a white veil

your image
flow slowly
a half rainbow
embroidered with joy

dreams cross the frozen pond
your Spring devotion
will rise and sparkle
reaching afar shores

not yet midnight
phoenix spreads
shining wings
clear and simple

(dedicated to a poet friend at poemhunter, Obed Dela Cruz)

you know sir, I think I have read this before and made a comment but I have not seen/noticed the dedication. Wow! Thanks sir! Thanks a lot sir! but i just don't get it a little bit. I am just curious on why is it called 'footnote' and why does it describe a flower? I know poems are made of figuratives sometimes but I can't sometimes understand it. Anyway, sir your poems 'myth' are good!
