Footbridge In The Forest Poem by Marilyn Lott

Footbridge In The Forest

Rating: 5.0

It was just a simple footbridge
But I didn't know just where
It would lead me in the forest
Should I trust it? Did I dare?

It was a lovely summer day
At Mt. Rainier National Park
Something pulled me ahead
It was eerie, it was dark.

But, so beautiful and earthy
Oh, how I loved the smell
Voices beyond called me
Rather lonesome, I could tell.

But sometimes we must travel
To a place with a wisp of unrest
An unknown route just like
This footbridge in the forest.

Those who are accustomed to an urban life, are obviously amazed at the sight of such lonely and exotic locations. I have had a similar experience in Andaman & Nicobar Islands which was inhabited by tribal people happy with their primitive lifestyle. Thanks for sharing this wonderful poem.
