Foolishness Poem by Barry Van Allen

Foolishness

Rating: 5.0

It's hard enough to hear the truth,
it is hard enough to tell the truth,
most folks just can't handle it,
straight on!

Lying is somehow easier,
the short run, tends to work for some,
the price that must be paid,
is worse though, over - all.

Credibility gets caught,
the probability is great,
that nobody ever trusts you,
anymore.

Lies only worked for me,
until I turned Thirteen,
at Fourteen, I learned better,
that it wasn't going to work.

At Thirty, you still think it works,
it does... a day or two,
'till you're found out, and no one says it,
of course, everybody knows it,
BUT, who is the real fool!

The dishonest person or as you say the fool is only deceiving/hurting themselves in the long run. Great poem Barry. Hugs, Diane
