Follow Me Poem by Ted Steger

Follow Me

If i were to leave today,
And bleed into the 'morrow,
Would you follow me?
To wonder the mysterious halls,
To sway in the sweet abyss,
The soft sanctuary,
That lies behind,
The limits of a defined mind.

Drift beyond reality,
Into lush insanity,
The realm of death, fear, and pain,
The true weakness of the human brain,
The things that let you touch insasne.

Nothing can crush a human's soul,
'Cept the pain of love,
The fear of living,
And the death of life.

So tell me what scares you,
Tell me what dwells,
In the dark ruined realms,
Of your faltered shrine,
Between the crossroads of your lonely mind,
Where now is non-existent,
Where your free to walk the miles of time
The desolate graveyard,
Where memories burn alive.

Beyond the twisted grip of lies decay,
Way beyond the sullen grey.
