Follow After Me Poem by Barbara Blevins

Follow After Me

I gasped as I soon realized,
That I was persecuted and criticized.
The Lord had opened my spiritual eye,
He came to the rescue of my cry.
\Spiritual wisdom began to unfold,
Knowledge of truth that had been told.
In God's word we do find,
This sinful world is so unkind.
\Jesus Christ the Savior of all,
On Calvary's cross took the fall.
placed all sin upon him and died at calvary,
His blood was shed to set us free.
\God's word made flesh died and rose again,
Precious blood freed us from bondage of sin.
We must walk in his likeness and follow him.
He was persecuted, criticized, condemned, & crucified by them.
\We must take up our cross and walk in the likeness of Jesus,
For his blood shed is what freed us.
His life laid down is what set us free,
He's calling in his Word follow after me.
