Folk Poem by Matthew English

Folk

Folk uplifts ones mind and soul
with the simple melodies, musical poetry.
From the acoustics to the banjo twang and
earthy bass coupled with voice and strings.
Tells a tale that takes you back, nostalgic and
warming to the heart. Windy moors and sun-kissed
lovers through the night- to last a century
bringing a new wave of interpretation in dress-
brogues to tweed. The evolution from soft
into heavy. Engulfing how you see and the rhetoric we speak.
In arms we sing and spirit we drink.
In folk we live, breath and speak.
