Fly Bird Fly Poem by Rik Bertrand

Fly Bird Fly

We met, we talked, and danced all night.
She looked so beautiful in all that light.
we met again, a week gone by,
she did not remember, fly bird fly.

A rose was bought, and placed in hand,
we walked awhile hand in hand.
the kiss came later, heart on fire.
my spirits lifted higher and higher.

I looked at her, my stare intense,
my thoughts of her she could not sense.
the time grew late, we said good bye,
she left the rose, fly bird fly.

spirits broken, lost love again.
was the rose forgotten, or was it a sign of the end?
hold on to thoughts of love, and don't ask why.
go with your faithful heart, and fly bird fly.
