Fly Away Poem by Pete Rivera

Fly Away

Rating: 4.5

Shining loopholes
Filling cold souls
And I'm slipping away
From the daytime
Listen as bells chime
And pull the twilight away
So I'm reborn
Nothing here to scorn
And I'm falling asleep
To nighttime bell rings
And bright seraph sings
Daylight I will keep
I'll keen in mind
The colors of the distant stars
I can taste their coolness
But I can't jump far
Because I'll fall to reality
And that'll be a sight to see
Crescent moon crust
Turn my joys to dust
In the darkness below
But I will grab hold
And watch the paper unfold
To defeat the common foe
Lamp shade bright green
Hiding to be unseen
By the spirits of day
But I will fly now
Don't even ask how
I just want to fly away
I just want to fly away from here
