Floating In A Sea Of Confusion Poem by Kaila George

Floating In A Sea Of Confusion

Rating: 5.0

I have been adrift
Floating in a sea of confusion
My heart and soul says one thing
But others still think they know better
Odd how you take a path
That others think is not right
For you or the path you lead
But with defiant steps
You think to yourself
It’s my choice not theirs
Should I crumble and fall
Then I will pick myself up
And continue the path I chose
How else can you be true to yourself?
To defy all THEIR logic
Will make no sense to them
But that does not matter
As long as it works for you
It makes all the sense in the world to you
FREEDOM of choice is what you chose

This reminds me a lot of the Robert Frost work the road not taken, the confusion originates from the overwhelming feeling of loss of control, people tell you what to do but in the end its always up to you to decide what's best for yourself, and know one else. I like the message that you go with especially the last few lines, thanks Kaila.

Agree. Only you can choose your own path, if you stumble you regain your balance, if you fall you get up. Advice is good from people who care, but ultimately we must decide the direction of our lives.
