Five Fingers. Poem by U Win Kyi

Five Fingers.

The thumb is very proud.
He talks very loud.
Short in stature
so also in temper.
He is stout and strong.
No forgiveness for someone's wrong.

The Index is a pointer,
Finding the faults of other.
He directs what to do,
what not to do.
Everybody must obey his rules.
When there is a blunder,
he is not responsible.
He is a clever evader.

The middle finger stands very tall,
staying above the law.
He is a cruel king,
no justice he would bring.
Out of his gun barrel,
comes his power.

The ring finger is the richest,
wearing the diamonds of the best.
He enjoys his enormous wealth,
by eating expensive food and buying sex.
'Money is every thing 'in hie eye.
There is nothing he could not buy.

Then comes the little finger
thin and slender,
humble in manner,
admits that he is a sinner.
But when the palms are put together in prayer
to GOD, he is nearer than the others.
