Fishing From The Pier Poem by ray Schreiber

Fishing From The Pier

as the sun goes down
some fisherman's hopes go up
and then dissipate
empty and full of stories
they pack their gear and head home

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Watching men fish off the public fishing pier near the shipyards in San Francisco... I wrote this tanka to honor their fruitless efforts and indomitable spirits.
