Fishing For Bluegills Poem by Juan Olivarez

Fishing For Bluegills

Watching my float drifting away,
Waiting for nibbles,
On this very fine day.
Looking for Bluegills down by the stream,
No fancy frills,
This is my dream.
A piece of an earthworm,
Thats all it took.
To get my first hit,
On this number ten hook.
The little float is moving again,
It must be a big one,
Look at my cane.
Bluegills are fun,
And so good on a plate.
When that line starts to run,
You know he's got the bait.
