Aric Beers
First Kiss
Some would say it wasn't much
But it was heaven to feel her touch
In the moment on our own
Is when our love truly shone
Amidst the tears I held you tight
Our feelings we didn't fight
I took your hand and leaned on you
The only thing I could do
And when I looked in your eyes
In that moment there were no lies
I love you and you love me
That much was plain to see
And as I held you close
I got ready to try love's full dose
But as I lifted my face
You put your hands on my cheeks and moved your lips into place
I closed my eyes as your lips I did meet
In that moment I tasted love and it tasted sweet
That was the moment I felt true bliss
The moment you gave me my first kiss

Arid Beers, soft as the butterfly's leap, as hard hitting as a bullets shriek, and so alive as my eternal beat, the thump of my youth was brought back in time, when I read your poem, I felt that same kiss sublime.
