Fire Ants Poem by Sidi Mahtrow

Fire Ants

You'll learn real respect,
If you mess with fire ants.
They attack in numbers when enraged
The poison injected results in a blister
Soon the skin in the area dies
And it looks like a boil
Which takes up to a month to heal.

And the fire ant is just a tiny speck.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Don't rub or scratch the area as this releases histamines which only makes the sensation worse. Take Benadryl and apply a soothing cream (Triamcinolone Acetonide) twice a day. Best method for treating the bite, is to once the "boil" has formed, lance it. This releases the entrapped dead tissues and fluids so the healing process can begin.
