Finished By Unkind Poem by gershon hepner

Finished By Unkind

Powerfully, the fate of Mike
taught people what they may not like
to hear: we must accept each card
that we are dealt, however hard.
By doing this, we may set an
example of the “Yes we can! ”
which for most people sounds absurd,
but isn’t for the ones who’ve heard
of Mike, the son of Paul, who’d play,
while still possessing an airway,
C Major, finished but unkind
to him on his stringed megamind.

A tribute to my very good friend Mike Robyn, beloved husband of Abby and father of Sara and Anna, who died on January 27th,2010.
