fine-feathered.......? ?

I....perhaps you....
have
seen the hole
in
the hero's shoe....small toe protruding....
and
loved him for it.........

as
a jacket
worn
inside out....
pockets flapping...
snapping
in
the wind.........like strange frightened birds....
their feet
caught
in
a mesh.....

and
it was good
that
he remembered
only
the dance......

a
fleet of notes.....
bright chords......resonant overtones
.... those melodies
lifted him
far above the field of blood..........
sniper's bullets could not find him......

he sought no revenge........
his joy was the dance...........

I am looking for those shoes......
.knowing he has left them for me to find.......

I am no hero........
.more a chimeric beast..........yawping........

tasting time........

unshod.....

stumbling........

hopping..........

hopeful.....................................

I'm not sure that I understand exactly what your intention is, but your writing here has a very lyrical quality that allows for some really intense imagery. It's very enjoyable and thought-provoking. I'll definitely be reading this one again.
