Finding Her Soul Poem by Jeri Martindale

Finding Her Soul

She sits staring out her window...
Waiting so patiently as the time ticks by...
What does she expect to see today?

Excited and anxious at the same time,
no smile in her eyes.
But then I see it, the gleam appears
Does she now see what she was waiting for all these years?

She stands and places her hand upon the glass,
A glimpse of what she wanted to see.
A tear falls down her cheek, yet she is smiling
What did she see today, what has been hiding?

She turns to walk away from the cold window
No longer standing where I can see her.
I place my hand on the glass, I could stare at her forever.
I stand still, why cant I go?

A knock at my door, I open it slowly.
A miracle, she stands in front of me.
She reaches out and lifts my hand to hold
How did she finally find me, I am her soul?
