Final Moment Of Breath Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Final Moment Of Breath

Silver linings, I've never seen throughout life,
only the ebony darkness of grief surrounds my
mind and heart.

Through the night, finding nothing to help or
hold onto, standing on the threshold of ever-
lasting death.

Head bowed down, hands clasped, heart lying in
the sand at my feet, never again putting it
back within me.

Having given up on love or mercy, watching death,
beckoning me to come to him, taking the first
step towards him now.

Deciding to let him take me into his deathly
slumber this very second, ready to feel the
nothingness of death in this final moment of
breath.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

A gripping smack of the dark side of verse...One of my fav' styles of verse for reasons I haven't a clue as to why.... Nicely Done, Rose ~FjR~
