Final Goodbye Poem by Alan Bruce Thompson

Final Goodbye

I’m sorry, but I must now go,
“Oh! please don’t, don’t leave me just so”.

We’ve all those times together, those wondrous days,
“But if you leave me now it’ll disappear in the haze”.

A letter came, I’m called away,
“But why right now? please say you’ll stay”.

They’ve called the plane, I must go now,
“But how will I manage? Tell me, say how? ”

We’ll meet again sometime, in some distant place,
“I knew this day would come, you’re cruel, a disgrace”.

But why are you angry, it was a love that could not be,
“Yes, but you’re not doing this to anyone, you’re doing this to me! ”
